Diana began to market her special brand of wine moxie after wearing numerous hats within the wine and spirit realm. She cut her (grape stained) teeth at Virtual Vineyards and Wine.com of Napa, California, where she was lucky enough to be among a handful of Wine Merchants during the website’s glory days.
As a Wine Director and Consultant, Diana has built beverage programs for such hedonistic luminaries as:
- Paradise Foods, Corte Madera
- Japonais restaurant, Chicago
- The Chopping Block Cooking Schools, Chicago
- The Bottle Shop, Wilmette, and
- Off the Vine, Hinsdale
She's directed programs for the likes of Chicago’s Le Colonial, Le Passage, and Fox & Obel; facilitated programs for Wine Discount Center, Chicago, and Whole Foods, Palo Alto; and peddled wine for Chicago’s Vin Divino, Ltd. Thus far, Diana’s restaurant wine lists have received multiple “Awards of Excellence” from Wine Spectator magazine.
She’s also put pen to paper for such wine catalogs as Geerlings & Wade, Boston, and both Diana and her wine musings have been featured in such media as ABC Chicago news, The Chicago Tribune, Timeout Chicago, Modern Bride Chicago, The Onion A.V. Club, Centerstage Chicago, and Karma Magazine.
As an educator, Diana has taught countless students in the Chicagoland area, from corporate wine seminars, to a seven-week course at the University of Chicago. Diana is currently the Wine Director and Educator for Chicago’s oh-so-fabulous The Chopping Block Cooking Schools, where her wine classes often enjoy sold-out status. Check out her upcoming wine classes (and all the fun classes) at www.thechoppingblock.net.
Diana lives in Evanston, Illinois with her husband Rick and baby boy Elijah, and publishes a "Cheap n' Good"
Wine List once a year to the eternal gratitude of friends and family (who apparently don’t have time to mess around). In truth, Diana would someday like to own a wine shop called “Cheap n’ Good,” but investors have thus far been scarce, perhaps fearing the base nomenclature. What can you do?
